Every so often, a family comes to us with a request that reminds us just how deeply personal memorial art can be.
Vince reached out while his family was still in the pre-planning stage for his father. His dad had a big personality, a strong sense of humor, and was known as a lifelong jokester. One running family story was his playful comment about wanting a cremation urn with a “rump” so everyone could come “kiss his ash.”
Instead of letting that idea stay as just a joke, Vince asked if we could help bring it to life in a way that still honored his father while reflecting his humor and spirit.
With his direction on style and elements, we created a custom trophy-style memorial piece with bold handles, meant to be a shared, lighthearted family tribute. Something that could be passed around, talked about, and remembered as part of who he was.
The result became one of the most unique memorial pieces we have ever made. Not because of its humor alone, but because of what it represents: a family choosing to honor their loved one exactly as he lived, with personality, laughter, and honesty.
After receiving the finished piece, Vince shared this with us:
“Just wanted to reach out and thank you guys for making our idea come to life. My father absolutely loved the urn. It turned out fantastic. It will bring joy and resurface memories about my father for my family for years. We are extremely thankful to have found you guys. I will certainly be recommending you to friends and family.”
Moments like this are why we do what we do.
Every family grieves differently. Some lean into tradition. Some lean into symbolism. And some find healing in pieces that reflect humor, stories, and the full personality of the person they love.
For us, it is always an honor to help turn those stories into something tangible that can be held, shared, and remembered.
Some memorials start with a simple idea. Others begin with a mother who knows exactly what feels right for her child. Jacob’s family came to us with a clear vision: a Guitar Pick urn, styled with a Green Day inspired design that reflected his personality and musical heartbeat of their son.
This wasn’t a standard urn request and that’s exactly why we were the right fit.
How the Vision Took Shape
Jacob’s mother knew the imagery she wanted. Their family friend, a graphic designer, created a custom label that captured Jacob’s style and the band aesthetic he loved. Our job was to build the vessel:
a sculpted, full-size guitar pick–shaped urn, cast in ceramic, refined by hand, and finished to hold that deeply personal design.
When their artwork arrived, we integrated it into the piece with care, adjusting sizing, surface prep, and sealant finishes so the image sat clean, crisp, and protected. The result was a collaboration across love, craft, and creativity — a mother, a designer, and our hands bringing one singular tribute to life.
A Reel That Says It All
A few days ago, Jacob’s mother shared a Facebook Reel of her unboxing the package.
She talked through her experience, the care in the packaging, the thoughtful details, the business cards — and then the reveal of the piece itself. She shared what inspired the design, how the piece reflects her son’s spirit, and how deeply she loves and misses him.
Those moments remind us why we do what we do.
When Any Regular Urn Just Won’t Do
Families come to us because their person wasn’t “generic.” Their urn shouldn’t be, either.
Every life carries its own signature, and sometimes the best way to honor that is with a form that speaks their language ... a shape, image, color, or reference tied to who they were.
Jacob’s Guitar Pick urn is exactly that: a memorial with personality, meaning, and honest heart behind it.
Craft Meets Personal Meaning
This piece reflects how custom work often unfolds:
A family brings the spark of the idea.
We collaborate together on the perfect design.
We shape, build, and finish the vessel.
Together, the final memorial becomes something truly one-of-a-kind.
Our role is to bridge grief and art...to help families translate their love into something they can hold, memorials as unique as they were.
For Families Exploring a Custom Piece
If you’re considering a custom memorial, here are a few thoughts to keep in mind:
Start with symbols that mattered to them: music, tools, hobbies, shapes, colors, themes.
Don’t worry about having everything figured out.
A single image, object, or phrase is often enough to begin building the concept.
We work with sketches, stories, photos, or even small ideas that need shaping. Custom pieces take time, patience, and collaboration, but the outcome is always worth the effort.
Gratitude
To Jacob’s family: thank you for trusting us with something so personal, and for sharing your reaction with others. Your Reel touched us deeply, and it will help other families see what’s possible when they follow their heart in choosing a memorial.
Every life is unique, and the memorial that honors it should be too. We specialize in custom urn sculptures that reflect the passions, hobbies, and spirit of your loved one. Through careful collaboration, hand-sculpting, and artisan finishing, each YURN becomes a one-of-a-kind urn for ashes—a tribute that truly doesn’t look like any other urn.
Here are four recent projects of how personalization brings memories to life:
Levi’s Djembe Drum
Levi’s mom worked closely with us to ensure every detail captured her son’s vibrant spirit. He carried his drum everywhere, and she couldn’t imagine a more fitting tribute. From personalized engravings to hand-strung drumhead ropes that mimic an African djembe, this handmade memorial urn honors Levi—“Dude”—just as his family remembers him...
"Shine on you crazy diamond".
Beth’s Modified Bible YURN with Piano Keyboard
Beth loved playing piano for her church, and wisteria was her favorite flower. Her personalized urn sculpture combines our Bible YURN with the added modification of a keyboard, creating a tribute that intertwines her faith, music, and personal style into a singular work of art.
Rock’n Mania Record Stacks
For a father who owned the "Rock'n Mania" record label, we created a pair of stacked vinyl custom cremation urns for his daughter and son. Each piece was tailored with design elements inspired by the label, making these memorials as unique as the music he loved and the family he cherished.
Gretchen’s Log Cabin Memorials
Two siblings commissioned these warm, cozy handmade urns in memory of their mother, who loved crafting and the comforts of her Minnesota home. The log cabin motif reflects her spirit, creating a lasting tribute that brings both charm and memory together.

This year has brought its share of unexpected turns. Most recently, we experienced a significant family health emergency when Jamaica’s dad suffered a serious heart scare that led to triple bypass surgery. For the past several years, her parents have kept their travel trailer on our property for extended visits with our family in the country. They happened to be with us during this episode, so his cardiac care is now local to our home. Thankfully, he’s recovering here with us, and we’re grateful every day for his strength and continued healing.
We’re still a little emotionally raw, experiencing this just four months after losing Rob’s sister, Jamie, to a fatal heart attack in our home. It’s been a lot to process, but it deepens our gratitude for health, family, and the time we have together.
For more than a dozen years, Rob worked in the medical field, and now our way of life here allows us to care for our elders when needed. It’s one of the reasons we’re so drawn to this work—creating memorials with intention, love, and humanity. We’re honored to do what we do, and that includes showing up for family when it matters most.
That said, these recent weeks have naturally delayed our usual production pace. We appreciate the grace and patience of those waiting for their memorials. Please know that we’re back in the studio now, doing the careful, heartfelt work we’ve always promised—with the same dedication that’s guided us from the beginning.
From our family to yours, thank you for trusting us in such meaningful moments. It’s never taken lightly.
This past month, we gathered to celebrate the life of our Uncle Al...music lover, storyteller, and all-around original. For his memorial, we created a custom version of our 45s Record Stack YURN, personalized just for him. Jamaica designed a custom label featuring some of his quirky sayings and the title of a funny song he wrote years ago. It felt like the perfect way to honor both his sense of humor and his lifelong love of music.
We set the piece on his memory table at the cemetery committal, surrounded by photos, a few of his favorite things, and plenty of stories being shared. To help remember him with a smile, I also made custom stickers with his best one-liners and handed them out to friends and family.
For his closest loved ones, we went a step further, creating individual ceramic 45s with the custom label on one side and the lyrics to his original song on the back. These keepsakes were a fun way to remember him always.
His record stack urn was entirely hand-built, with each horizontal line carefully carved to give the look of a stacked collection of vinyl. We’ve love the Record Stack pieces we've done previously, but the process is labor-intensive. We’re currently developing a mold for the Record Stack YURN that will allow us to bring this design into our production line. This shift will help reduce costs, speed up production time, and make this meaningful design more accessible to other music-loving families, while still allowing for personal touches like custom labels and Record keepsakes.
It was an honor to create this YURN and keepsake collection for someone who meant so much to our family. We can hear Uncle Al saying, "Far out and beyond!".
Over the last couple of years, our teenage son has quietly been learning the ropes of our urn-making process—watching, listening, getting his hands in the clay, and developing his own creative voice. When we lost our dear Jamie, his Aunt and Rob's sister, it hit us all hard. But for him, it sparked something deep: a desire to create something meaningful, personal, and full of heart. With guidance from us and a whole lot of intention, he brought a new vision to life—a heartfelt variation of our Guitar Picker YURN, now with wings.
He wanted to make something just for her, something that honored who she was: bold, sparkly, and totally original. Jamie had that rock-n-roll energy—she loved animals, horror movies, stickers, glitter, music, and laughing loud. Pink was her color, and life for her was always full of personality and punch. Just a few months before we lost her, she went with him to his first concert with his favorite band—his birthday surprise—and that night will always be one of his most treasured memories. So he built this memorial piece with wings to help it soar, adding touches like her signature, plus a special guitar pick and custom stickers that Jamie’s daughter—his cousin—had made and shared at her memorial service. Every element meant something and represented Jamie's spirit.
We’re proud of what he created—not just as a beautiful tribute to Jamie, but as a step forward in his own journey. This piece gave him space to process, to remember, and to contribute something real. In his words, "it just felt right."
We wanted to take a moment to share some personal news and updates regarding our family and business.
In March 2024, Jamaica’s Uncle Al was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He moved into our studio space at home so we could help him navigate medical challenges, local oncology treatments, and, eventually, hospice care. He never had children of his own, so we were his closest family able to care for him. For 10 months, he fought bravely, but sadly, he passed away on January 24th.
Uncle Al was one of a kind—witty, fun-spirited, and thoughtful. He loved to travel, was a music fan of all genres, and enjoyed thrifting for a good deal. His friends were such a big part of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew his kind spirit.
This past September, Rob’s sister, Jamie, arrived from New Mexico. She was leaving a difficult relationship, looking to start a new chapter in life and find comfort with family. We set up a camper on our property for her and her pets. Having Jamie here brought fresh air into our daily lives and workload. Always a team player, she helped around the house, cared for the kids, and eased the stresses we were all facing with Uncle Al's care. Quick with a joke or smart remark, Jamie brought levity to every situation. She was unapologetically authentic, with a heart of gold.
On Jamaica’s birthday, February 3rd, we all had dinner together and enjoyed some cheesecake. Later that night, Jamie banged on our bedroom door, calling for Rob. We rushed out to find her struggling to catch her breath. Since moving in, she had experienced occasional shortness of breath and chest tightness. She said she had been having these episodes for over 15 years, which we had presumed were panic attacks. But this time, it escalated quickly—she turned pale and lost consciousness. We called 911, and Rob performed CPR as instructed until EMS arrived. The paramedics did everything they could to resuscitate her, but they were unable to, and she passed away from a massive heart attack. She was 52 years old.
It was a terrifying situation that ended in the worst possible way. Needless to say, we are in shock and deep grief, having lost them both within days of each other. Watching Uncle Al wither away was a slow and painful process—one we saw coming. But losing Jamie so suddenly and unexpectedly has left us feeling shortchanged by the wonderful presence she brought into our daily lives. Yes, they were our family, but they were also our friends, and they both brought so much laughter to the world.
Given these events, we are behind on our urn schedule and have temporarily stopped accepting new sales so we can focus on fulfilling existing orders. We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this difficult time. Our memorial artwork comes from the heart, and right now, our hearts are heavy.
We truly understand the gravity of this work and are so grateful to be entrusted with this task for your families. We will return as soon as possible. Please keep our family in your prayers, and know that we will fulfill our promises and work diligently to get back on track.
Thank you for your continued support and grace...
- Rob & Jamaica

Guitar Cremation Urns — One-of-a-Kind Handmade Memorial Sculptures
We’re thrilled to introduce GuitarUrns.com, our new online home dedicated entirely to our handcrafted guitar-inspired cremation urns.
For families who want a memorial as personal as the music their loved one played, each piece is modeled after their actual guitar. Using photos and model details, we sculpt a custom wall-hanging memorial urn that beautifully reflects the instrument they cherished.
Every urn begins with clay in our Texas studio, where we handcraft and finish each piece with care and artistry. These one-of-a-kind urns for ashes honor the soul of a musician in a way that feels natural and uplifting—urns that don’t look like urns, but rather, timeless tributes to a life lived through music.
Each design can be personalized with engraved names, dates, handwritten signatures, song lyrics, or meaningful epitaphs. The result is an artistic urn for ashes that carries deep emotional resonance and visual beauty—an heirloom that tells their story in form and detail.
Visit GuitarUrns.com to explore this special collection and learn how we can create a custom urn sculpture modeled after your loved one’s beloved instrument.
Recently, we got an unexpected compliment from Google: our Catfish urn listing was flagged for “Sale of Live Animals.” Apparently, the image of our ceramic urn was so lifelike that it fooled Google’s review system! While the mix-up made us laugh, it also speaks to the level of detail and realism we strive for in our artisan urns.
When Google thought our urn was alive, it underscored something we already believe deeply: an urn doesn’t have to look like an urn to honor a life.
At MorzArt, our goal is for our memorial sculptures to move beyond the ordinary. We design artistic urns for ashes that don’t just hold remains—they reflect the life, passion, and character of the person they memorialize. When an urn looks convincingly lifelike, that tells us we’ve hit the mark on authenticity.
If you're looking for unique cremation urns or custom urn sculptures with intricate design, you’ll find them in our gallery. Each piece is handcrafted, often themed (like our catfish urns), using clay, paints, and finishes that push the boundary between art and memorial.
If you’re drawn to realistic, meaningful, one-of-a-kind urns, explore our gallery or reach out. We’d love to help craft a memorial that truly reflects a life.
When an urn becomes a work of art, it transforms from container to tribute. At MorzArt, we create unique cremation urns that honor identity, not just memorialize remains.
For every commission, we begin with the stories, passions, and objects that meant the most. From a worn baseball cap, to a beloved acoustic guitar, we sculpt custom urn sculptures modeled after elements of your loved one’s life. These are artistic urns for ashes that tell their story at a glance.
